Question: last Thursday I started having diarrhea (sort of explosive and uncontrollable). Took mylanta and Imodium to see if it would calm down. Also pressure and gas. I am concerned about my electrolytes and I can't get to my doctor because I don't know when it will hit. Brief Answer:
Yes

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thank you for posting your question on HealthcareMagic.
By the description of your symptoms it looks like you have contracted a stomach infection.
I would recommend the following.
Please start taking Ciprofloxacin in combination with Tinidazole it comes as Ciplox TZ twice a day for a week.
You are right when you are worrying about electrolytest. If you can get any oral rehydrating solution over the counter please start taking it .
Also drink plenty of water.
Immodium alone without antibiotic is not recommended as it may harm you .
After you have around 2 doses of antibiotics you could use immodium.
If in the next 24 hours you don't feel any better please get a stool analysis along with culture .
Hope this helps
Best wishes
