What Causes Excessive Sweating And Disorientation After Taking Muscle Relaxant?

default
Posted on Thu, 17 Aug 2017
Question: My wife is 68 years old, took some pain pills and a muscle relaxant.....she was sleeping all afternoon....when I went to check on her...she was soaking in sweat head to toe...no fever...and disorientated, thinking she was in XXXXXXX where we use to live.....She has gone back to sleep...should I let here sleep it off or could it be something more serious? I checked for the classic stroke symptoms, she doesn't seem to have those?

Brief Answer:
Stroke doesn't present like this

Detailed Answer:
Hello

After going through the medical details provided by you of your wife I can understand your concern and I would like to tell you that it doesn't look like a Stroke presentation.

However considering her age I would like to suggest you to take her to a doctor when she gets up and get few tests done

1. ECG
2. Echocardiography
3. Complete Blood Count
4. Kidney function test
5. Thyroid profile
6. HbA1c
7. Serum electrolytes

Kindly get these tests done for thorough evaluation.

Feel free to ask if you have any more doubts or else you can close the discussion and kindly rate the answer.

Kind regards
