What Causes Excessive Drooling, Diarrhea, Vomiting And Ear Infection?
Question: Problem started with my son with excessive drooling and not eating anything. We went to a doctor and he saw an ear infection. So he prescribed Topcef and candid B for ears. After Topcef and candid B for ears. Now he started diarrhea and vomiting and fever 102 for a single day.
Doctor suggested Rantac and Ondem and recommended Netromax 50mg injection for 3 days. After 3 days of Netromax treatment, he is better now. Doctor also suggested that urine tract infection need a treatment for atleast 15 days. So he put my son on antibiotic (Septron) 5 ml daily for 15 days with vitamins Vitamin D and Vitamin B Complex.
My question is
1) do we really need antibiotic.
2) His vaccination MMR/Measles is also due. Can we have him vaccinated as antibiotic course is already going on.

I have uploaded the reports. We have done the urine routine again where pus cell value is 0-1.

I have gone through the details and attached reports. I would not consider a pus cell count of 6-8/hpf as a urinary tract infection (UTI); a pus cell of 0-1/hpf is by no means UTI. In such a case unless there are definite clinical presentations like unexplained fever, I would not suggest treatment with antibiotics. If in confusion, a urine culture can be done. A colony count of less than 10^5 (i.e. 1,00,000) would not be considered UTI.
