What Causes Excessive Bleeding In Periods?

default
Posted on Wed, 14 May 2014
Question: Hi,

I have mensus at normal cycle, no irregularity. But there is heavy bleeding during the mensus. I usually take trenaxa MF on the second day of the mensus, twice a day for two days. Is it safe ? This was once prescribed by the doctor. I also have a fibroid on the wall of the uterus.
Is there any other way to treat heavy bleeding.

Brief Answer:
serial ultrasound and hemoglobin check ups

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX thanks for trusting health care magic.
There are several reasons for excessive bleeding in periods in your case particularly viz
- fibroid uterus
- anaemia
- liver disease.
But most probably the reason with maximum contribution is the presence of fibroid uterus.

If bleeding normalizes with intake of tranexa MF and size of fibroid is not increasing on successive ultrasounds then there is no need of any intervention.
Tranexa MF is a safe drug and can be taken as prescribed.
In case the size increases or hemoglobin decreases more and more with each cycle then I'm afraid you might need surgical removal of fibroid.
I hope I have answered your question and in case you have any query I will be happy to help.
Take care.
