What Causes Erectile Dysfunction After GreenLight Laser Surgery?

default
Posted on Mon, 24 Oct 2016
Question: My husband had a Greenlight Procedure about 4 months ago and afterwards had no problems with sexual dysfunction. Now he has been having difficulty keeping an erection. Would it be safe to try a medication like Viagra? He had no cancer.

Am I going to get an answer to my question on my email? And if so when? My transaction reference number is HCM221557. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Write medication and his other illness.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an urologist, I can understand your concern.
You should write his age and if he has other illness, esp. cardiac and medication being taken.
After you reply, I can give you an expert opinion.

His age is 68 and the only issues he has had have been the problem with the prostate. This is why he had the Greenlight procedure done 4 months ago. He had no issues afterwards until now with sexual dysfunction. His last GFR was in July and it was 45 which was an improvement from 39 before the procedure. His creatinine in July was 1.5 down from 1.9 before procedure. No cardiac and only medication is the eye drop Fluorometholone to right eye from shingles in right eye last year 9/15.

Brief Answer:
No harm in trying Sildenafil.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
He can very well try Sildenafil tablets.
He should take only one tablet, when he wants to take it. Taking two, is risky.
One tablet, about one hour before, he plans to have sex.
Wishing him well.
