What causes episodes of imbalance and dizziness?

Question: For the las week or so, I have had infrequent episodes of imbalance.. I will not feel steady on my legs, and sometimes have to steady myself by touching something solid. Then today, as I was driving, my vision became jittery. that is to say that my two eyes were not coordinated in what they were seeing. If I closed one eye, I could see without "jitter"; I could see fine. And vice versa. But if I opened both eyes, the jitter returned. The whole thing lasted about 2 minutes. By that time I had pulled off the road to assess the situation. After standing up and walking a bit, I got back in the car with my wife driving then and continued our journey. I am an 80 year young man in good shape; six feet tall and 188 pounds. Great health . YYYY@YYYY

Hello.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I read carefully your query.

The way you describe these episodes of imbalance associated with vision problems ,it can be a neurological problem. In this case is very important to exclude a possible TIA (transient ischemic attack ).
Just to be on the safe side I would suggest to consult a physician and get examined.A detailed neurological examination is necessary and probably specific examinations like CT or angio MRT of head.
Other possible causes for such symptoms can be inner ear problems ,blood pressure changes, disturbances of heart rhymths etc.
A detailed medical history and physical examination are necessary for proper evaluation.I would recommend to consult a physician and get examined.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any question.I would be happy to help.

Kind regards.
