What Causes Enlarged Testis After A Hernial Surgery?

Question: I had keyhole surgery for a Hernia in my left groin on 12th Feb 2014. Everything has now settled down apart from a veru enlarged left testicle. I have bee back with my Surgeon and he told me not to worry as this would settle down in time.. I am a bit worried as there is no change and I am wondering if this is normal or should I return to my Surgeon. I have no discomfort or pain. I am anxious to return to playing golf. is this wisw.

Brief Answer: You can resume your normal routine Detailed Answer: Hi Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day, Dear Mr XXXXXXX Enlarged Testis is seen often after Hernial Surgery, incidence being ess with Laparoscopic Surgery(Keyhole surgery) as the Spermatic cord handling is less. The Testis could be enlarged due to cord and testicular oedema. I hope post operative course was uneventful and any possible recurrence has been ruled out in follow up. Providing good scrotal support by wearing right size underwear will be beneficial. You can definitely get back to playing golf. In the absence of other complaints there is definitely no cause for concern. Its already been more than 6 weeks following Surgery, so you can definitely get back to your previous pre-operative schedule.
