What Causes Endometrial Thickening Along With Vaginal Bleeding?

Question: HI. This is a little involved. I"m 52, I've had ongoing GI issues, got diagnosed with gastritis, hiatal hernia and IBS. Had a colonoscopy five years ago(?) and my doctor says I don't need another one for another five years even though my father had colon cancer because he got it after sixty. Six months ago, I got stomach flu. just normal two day bug, but my stomach was just destroyed. I couldn't eat for two weeks, vomited about 4 times more in that period and within five weeks lost 15 lbs. My anorexia went on about two months. I also had to be taken to ER with uncontrolled vomiting which took them seven hours to get under control. I was scheduled for endoscopy but it took a few months to get and by then I was feeling better. But I still didn't seem to gain weight even after I started getting hungry again. He didn't find anything, including the things that had been found in previous endescopies, kind of ignored all the weight loss and hospital visit sine he didn't see anything and put me on Effexor, low dose for IBS. I went from daily and multiple diarrhea to complete constipation. They added Miralax, still didn't go for 14 days. Then diarrhea again but with increasing stomach pain, and after two weeks I started seeing dried blood when I would wipe, vomited one day when I hadn't in several months and last few days I managed to stay on the Miralax, so much pain I couldn't function. So I went off but am still having horrible stomach pain. I don't feel like with everything taken in total that this is IBS. The other part is I am having out patient surgery in two weeks for a polyp of corpus uteri and I have endometrial thickening, which from as far as I can tell from what I've seen online is at best considered a pre-cancerous condition. I am having a Hysteroscopy & D/C w/bx. I happened to run across information about Lynch syndrome and would like to know if I would qualify as possibly falling into this category. My father had colon cancer, but as a child had Leukemia, and died from an incredibly aggressive lymphoma. My aunt, his sister died fairly young of brain cancer, my uncle, his brother died of prostate cancer in his late 50's, and my first cousin on his side died of breast cancer at 39. Now that I'm having endometrial issues along with all the GI issues, should I insist on having another colonoscopy now.

Brief Answer:
Explanation is given below.....

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query.

I'm sorry for the health issue you are facing but be strong because you will be fine.
Endometrial thickening with vaginal bleeding at this age in fact is an issue but diagnosis if it is an endometrial cancer or not is done only by a biopsy of endometrium.
Please upload your last ultrasound scan to see endometrial thickness.

Lynch syndrome have some criteria and per your history it doesn't
seem to have relation with this syndrome.

But Lynch syndrome can be confirmed through a blood test.
The test can determine if you have or not a mutation in one of the genes associated with Lynch syndrome.
Currently testing is available for the MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, and EPCAM genes.

Hence in my opinion you should discuss with your gastrohepatologist.
In my opinion you should insist to do colonoscopy while you :
have had such issue
father who have died with colon cancer
and you have five years that you have done it

If you have any other question please do not hesitate because I will be here.

All the best
