What Causes Elevated Sugar Levels While On Glimepiride And Metformin?

Question: I am type 2 diabetic patient, My fasting sugar today is 146 and PP IS 206. I stopped walking for the last one month due to mist weather condition. Morning 3 dosas or idillis and for lunch one cup of white rice (100 gms) with some currys.
Every night I use to take to rounds of brandy and 3 chappathis.

Before breakfast I am glimipride 1mg with metformin 500 mg. and Night before drinks I am taking half of this dosage. Kindly advise.

Hi,

Thanks for your question.
Noted your concern.

Lack of physical exercise definitely has impact on blood sugar levels.
You can try indoor exercise as per your tolerance level.

In this type of situation I may suggest to do HbA1c level, serum creatinine.

Depending upon your Kidney and heart status I may have increased dose of Metformin to 1500mg per day in divided doses along with current dose of Glimepiride (1.5mg per day).

Also regarding your diet try to have brown rice instead of white rice.
Decrease your alcohol intake.
