What Causes Electricity Charged Sensation In The Right Arm?
Question: I just had a brief incident where my right arm and hand went sort of spastic and felt like it was charged with electricity. I could move my arm and had but it felt like it was diconnected from my body. I take medication for blood pressure though at the moment my be is 113/95. Pulse is 69. Also take Meds for a fib, meteor min for diabetes though my A1c is 6.1. The incident only lasted 10- 15 seconds if that long. I was able to walk and talk while it was happening. Any thoughts?
Brief Answer:
It is a transient ischaemic attack
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thank you for posting your question on Health Care Magic.
The symptoms you have described are typically symptoms of transient ischaemic attack.
It definitely requires further work up. I would strongly recommend you to get a CT brain done.
Once it is clear from the CT brain that there is no haemorrhage, starting Aspirin will prevent further major ischaemic episodes.
Statins also would help if you have high cholesterol levels.
Otherwise this episode as such is not the concern.
Preventing further major ischaemic episodes is important
Best wishes
