Brief Answer:
neuralgia

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It sounds like neuralgia which is nerve related pain.

Neuralgia can be related to abnormal structure or function of the nerves. It can be temporary or permanent.

The nerves in the thigh would come out from between the vertebra to enter into the thigh then leg.

The most common causes are: (1) trauma or compression along the path way of the nerves

This can occur from direct trauma, arthritis (in the back or hip region) etc

(2)vitamin b12 or folate deficiency

(3)diabetes

(4)liver or kidney disease

(5)exposure to toxins

(6)neurological diseases such as MS, stroke and other neurological conditions

(7)infections such as shingles but this would be associated with a history of a rash

(8) side effect of some medications

(9)idiopathic- cause is not known

It is possible that it is temporary and would go on its own

If it continues then you may need to see your doctor for assessment which should include physical examination and blood tests (diabetes screen , vitamin b12 and folate levels)

If your current meds are not helpful then there are alternatives that may help.

Anti seizure meds and anti depressants are used to treat nerve related pain in persons who have NO depression or seizures.

Eg lyrica, amitriptyline, tegretol, gabapentin

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
