What Causes Early Breaking Of Water Bag During Pregnancy?
Question: Hi Doc,
Guess you would know my history. I finally conceived through IVF, everything went well until in my 4th month my water broke all of a sudden & I was admitted in the hospital & was asked to remove the foetus. They did try to check on the infections etc at the same time. But due to less water, the foetus was getting deformed & the doc also suggested that there might be some complications later. So we went ahead & did the D& C.
Also, wanted to get to your notice, a month before this episode, I did bleed as well, but that was taken care & I was discharged from the hospital well, will meds for the same.
Kindly let me know what could be the reason for this traumatic episode. Left with just no option & such a helpless feeling.
Please do let me know whether the age 31 - 32 is too late to continue to conceive.
Are there chances of this re-occurring in my second pregnancy when I conceive?
I had taken good care of myself & was mostly on bed rest also.
Please advise on all my questions.

I think you might probably had cervical incompetence. You possibly need cervical encirclage for this.
32 years is not late to conceive. You can still try as you stand good chance. You can get a cervical encirclage this time to prevent such episode.

Cervix was 2.8. Isn't that enough? And also are there chances of reoccurrence in my next pregnancy?
