default
Posted on Mon, 2 Mar 2015
Question: I went to a resort last Saturday and there in the swimming pool, some water went into my ear. Yesterday night while sleeping, I got pain in that ear and when I used an ear bud to clean it, some blood came out. Now there is some pain in the ear and it feels as if its blocked. Even now, some blood is coming out. Can you please suggest some drops for the same

Brief Answer:
Please try to meet your ent doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Blood oozing out from the ear . specially after using an ear bud is kind of dangerous and you may have damaged your ear drum.!!

Although i cant confirm this , but it is a possibility and i would strongly advice you to meet your ent doctor.

Another possibility may be that you may have damaged the lining/skin of the ear canal, which is causing the pain and bleeding.

Please do not insert ear buds again and avoid swimming for another 2-3 weeks.

You can start ciprofloxacin-D ear drops 2 drops 4-5 times a day , it will reduce the swelling and infection. You can also take tablet combiflam twice a day , after food for the pain.

However i would still suggest that you get examined by an ent doctor.!!

Take care!
