Question: Ive been feeling discomfort im my right thigh for a few weeks now. Its seems to be improving but i have no idea what it could be from. Its like a faint ache

No tingling , its best described as just aching and maybe tightness too. I dontn believe its any kind of a sports injury.
One of my concerns is that it may have been from an std , particullarly hiv because ive read it can cause muscle/joint pain and such. I received oral and anilingus from a "dancer" at a friends bachelor party. I waited the suggested 3 weeks and took an "early detection" std test that included an hiv rna test and results were negative. But my right leg still feels funny

You may need further investigation like doppler ,ultrasound and MRI ,blood investigation after clinical examination.

How much confidence can i have in the negative results of the hiv rna test? Also, how late into the progression of an hiv infection are muscle/joint pain common? Ive been reading in some places its an early sign, and other is much later
Just trying hone in on what type of doc i should see , as well as what possibile ailments i may be dealing with. I tend to be somewhat of a hypochondriac at times and would like to limit the amt of time and money i spend moving foward

Hiv rna test has 80 to 85 percent sensitivity. I will advise repeat test after 3 months to confirm diagnosis.You can also do western blot test for hiv at that time.
Usually muscle pain occurs in late stages ,stage depends on viral load.
Some cases muscle pain may occur early also.
