default
Posted on Fri, 25 Apr 2014
Question: over the past 2 months i had developed a white dry patch of skin on my penis shaft. I have no pain or itching sensation. After a few days the dry skin peels off and new skin appears which is normal in color. Few days later the new skin turns white and dry and starts to peel off. now there are 2-3 more small patches like this. Please help me in diagnosing the problem. i tried using bioline cream on it and it seems to be bringing the patch back to normal color.

Brief Answer: Post-Inflammatory hypopigmentation Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query and I have understood it. After having a look at the picture, I would keep a possibility of post-inflammatory Hypopigmentation. I would suggest that you use a moisturizing cream in the area, regularly. A moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone ointment can be applied twice daily, at the hypopigmented patch, over and above the moisturizing cream. regards

Brief Answer: post-inflammatory hypopigmentation Detailed Answer: Hi. 1) One popular brand marketed by XXXXXXX in india by the name of Flutivate ointment, is available from chemist on prescription from a dermatologist. 2) You can expect noticeable improvement in about a month thereafter it can be continued further till the patch disappears in about 2-3 months 3) Discontinue it once the patch disappears. 4) Not a serious condition at all, but you should get it prescribed from a dermatologist and follow it up every month with your treating dermatologist. regards
