What Causes Dizzy Spells After Suffering A Heart Attack?

Question: Three weeks ago my husband suffered a small heart attack. Emergency room noted that blood level was also poor . In cardiac care had a vasovagal attack and began vomitting blood. That evening clamps were placed on a bleeding ulcer and a vein that had eroded into the stomach. After the bleed was stopped for a few days, he was catheterized and two stents were placed in his arteries. Came home two weeks ago and has been taking meds as indicated. He has also has follow up visits with gi, cardiac, and internal medicine practiciners. Today he has had two dizzy spells when he stands and walks. What advice can you give me?

It is very usual for one post cardiac surgeries to have disturbances in blood pressure and heart rate. These hemodynamic changes can cause dizzy spells. I suggest you to check the pulse rate an blood pressure soon after he complains of a dizzy spell. If the heart rate is below 45 or above 110 and blood pressure below 100/50 then do take him to ER as that could be an indication of complication in the heart.
