What Causes Dizziness, Tremors And Hot Sensations?

default
Posted on Thu, 6 Aug 2015
Question: Hello there. So I had a doctors appointment to something completely unrelated to physical matters. Within 5 minutes of the appointment, I suddenly got REALLY hot and started sweating. My hands started getting really shaky and I began to get nauseated as well as dizzy. They immediately called a nurse nearby to take my blood pressure and everything read normal, but I still felt all of those symptoms. They had asked if I could be pregnant and I said no. Coincidentally, I had an ultrasound done for something unrelated to pregnancy just two days before that incident. I would think if I were pregnant, they would be able to spot it. Nonetheless, they had me sit for about an hour and sip on a coke to see if it made me feel better (which it did). Could I be pregnant despite nothing showing on the ultrasound? It's too soon to take a test.

Brief Answer:
may be an anxiety attack.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and understand your concerns.

It takes at least 5 weeks of pregnancy (5 weeks after first day of last period) to really have a chance to see anything on an endovaginal ultrasound. And even then sometimes you just see the gestational sac and have to repeat at 6-7 weeks where you should see the embryo.

Did you miss your periods?

The symptoms which you had, feeling hot, shaky and dizzy, sweating, could be due to a panic attack. Do you have any stress or anxiety issues?

Have you experienced such symptoms in past as well?

Are these related to your menses?

Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks.

Thank you for responding! That was the immediate thought was a possible panic attack, but seeing as i was perfectly fine AND have been taking Zoloft for a few months, I would deem myself good. But who knows. And i did not miss my last period. I had it from the 26th till the 2nd of this month. I am projected to have my next one in 9 days .

Brief Answer:
probably a panic attack.

Detailed Answer:
You are most welcome :)

In case you have not missed the periods, the chances of pregnancy are negligible.

You are taking zoloft for few months.
Most probably, that would have been a panic attack.

Kindly talk to your treating psychiatrist about this.

May be, you might need a dose increment of zoloft or klonopin on SOS basis for such kind of situations.

Hope this helps.
Kindly close the discussion if you are satisfied with the response and give your valuable feedback.

Take care.
Thanks.
