Brief Answer:
Bengin Proxysmal Positional Vertigo

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. Your symptoms are very similar to "benign paroxysmal positional vertigo". Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is a type of vertigo/dizziness which is usually triggered by specific changes in the position of your head. This might occur when you tip your head up or down, when you lie down, or when you turn over or sit up in bed.

The cause of it is not clear. But it is due to vestibular system disease (part of inner ear). To confirm it, you must consult ENT specialist. He will do "Hallpike manoeuvre". This test is usually confirmatory for it. If there is confusion, MRI brain and electro-nystagmography can be done to confirm vestibular involvement.

Usually it subside in few months on its own. But if symptoms are bothering too much, you can

- Take tablet betahistine or combination of Cinnarizine+dimenhydrinate after prescription.

- In case of nausea, you can take tablet domperidone after prescription.

- If still no relief, you can consult doctor for "Canalith repositioning".

Hope it will help you. If you are having doubts, do let me know.
Thanks. Take care.
