What Causes Dizziness And Profuse Sweating?

default
Posted on Tue, 10 Oct 2017
Question: I awoke while sleeping in my living room lounge chair. Sweating profusely, I was dizzy, and my vision was whirling around. My vision was a constantly whirling in a circle as if a spinning top. but I did not try to stand up. I could move fine, but did not because of the dizziness. The dizziness was gone with 7 - 8 minutes. but I was still sweating so bad that I had to get a towel to dry off. I then went to bed & got up a 5:30am (as usual). I took it easy Sunday, and had no other episodes. Up at 5:30 today, showered, and drove to work. XXXXXXX Simmons

Routine blood work, BP check, ECG and EEG

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.

The symptoms you had in this episode can't singly lead towards a diagnosis, however, I suggest that you should get your Blood pressure checked and routine blood tests including blood sugar and serum electrolytes. In addition an ECG to look for cardiac abnormality and EEG for atypical brain electrical activity should be done.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
