What Causes Dizziness And Pressure In Back Of Head?

default
Posted on Fri, 7 Nov 2014
Question: I have this weird feeling of pressure in the back of my head. It comes with a general feeling of uneasiness and often dizziness. I also feel nauseous at times. My neck has started to have the pressure and pain in it. I did go to dr and had a sinuis infection and was given 2 shots and several scripts. The pressure issue is not getting any better and it gets worse when bending over. Tonight when I bent over a feeling of water going up my nose (like jumping in a pool) happened then liquid poured out my nose. What could all this be?

Brief Answer:
These symptoms need evaluation with Scan.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

These symptoms need evaluation with scan for both sinuses and brain.

Sinusitis can be primary cause of such symptoms.

But one more thing that worries me is fluid from brain leaking in the nose. This is called CSF rhinorrhea. Its comparatively less common and seen in patients with previous head injury.Discuss this possibility with your doctor.I am suggesting this because of way you explained presence of fluid in the nose.

Pressure at back of head also indicates evaluation for middle ear structures.Scan will help in this as well.

So get a scan done, so that underlying cause is determined. After that appropriate treatment can be planed.

Please ask if there are doubts.Regards.
