What Causes Dizziness And Neck Pain After Smoking Methamphetamine?

default
Posted on Mon, 15 Dec 2014
Question: I smoked meth an hour ago and feel lightheaded and some off and on aches in my neck. I haven't used for a long time and have used for about three weeks fairly regular. I do not want to die because of poor choice. Do I need to be concerned?

Brief Answer:
Yes. It is confidential.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic!

Yes, you need to be concerned but not for your present symptoms. The light-headedness and the muscle aches are not life-threatening and will diminish in a few hours. But you do need to be concerned because meth is one of the most addictive drugs available. That means, meth is very very easy to get hooked on but it is really really hard to quit. You have managed to remain abstinent for a long time, but please do not let that make you under-estimate the dangers of this drug. It is easy to succumb when life is difficult and stressful. Please be careful.

Best wishes.

Thank you Doc, I am not going to use again. I have six or seven tokes left and want to finish over a course of eight hrs. I promise that I will not use again. Several things hit me all at once and I made a poor decision over the last 3 weeks. I got divorced, I had to withdraw from college, my church turned against me due to divorce and that was kind of the final straw. I have the prescription drug Stadol and have not used it since 3am. I do not use it with meth, I did eat a small amount of hash. I hope you don't think I am a druggie because that could not be further from the truth. I am starting NA in the next couple of days.

Brief Answer:
Joining NA will certainly help you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is in these times of stress when everything goes wrong, that we are the most vulnerable to drugs. Resorting to drugs just adds to the list of things that are going wrong. It takes a lot of guts to remain abstinent in such circumstances and I have a feeling that you can do it. Just hang on and take it one day at a time. Life has to get better.

Joining NA will certainly help you. It was good that you did not use Stadol with meth. Regarding the remainder of your meth stock, I would feel much better if you were to flush it down the toilet. But if not, do take longer than eight hours to finish it off. I would suggest doing it over twenty-four hours or more, certainly not less. Spacing it out will prevent the discomfort that you are now having. It will also make it easier to come down when the drug is excreted from the body.

Best wishes.

I will keep you up to date until my subscription runs out. I am going to get on top of this and make better choices. I know you do not want me to flush but if I do not will I be safe because I could not handle my family dealing with this, meaning mom, gram and grown kids. I PROMISE NEVER again after this. Thanks for your concern and encouragement.

Brief Answer:
Good luck!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The safest thing would be if you could get rid of all your remaining stock. Just imagine each of your family member's face while you are flushing it down the toilet. It will give you courage.

But still if you choose to consume it, space it out as much as possible. Your initial idea of doing it over eight hours does not appear to me to be safe and there is a possibility that your family members will suspect that you are not your usual self. Instead, avoid taking the next dose while you are still on a high from the previous dose. This will ensure that you do not get intoxicated or overdose.

Take care.

Best wishes.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Kudos to you!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am really happy to know this! Well done!

Regarding your query on Stadol, it can be safely taken once you are no longer on a high and have started coming down. I couldn't answer it earlier as I had already started writing my answer before the query was posted.

Best wishes.
