Posted on Tue, 9 Sep 2014
Question: I just had a weird shock like felling that went through the back of my head with some dizziness and blurred vision. It didn't even last 30 seconds should I be worried? I did have a migraine that lasted 4 days last week if that helps

Brief Answer:
Can be due to migraine.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that patients who suffer from migraine can have such problems . Since it hasnt repeated itself there is nothing much to worry but it can be a TIA also .

So next time you have a visit at our doctors place discuss about it and if he also thinks same an evaluation for TIA should be done like risk fator screening for that. Rest I dont think there is anything to panic about madam.

Take care.

Okay but it almost felt like my brain got shocked and then of course I had a panic attack thinking I had a stroke. I'm not a smoker and I drink very little. I also have had pain in my right arm for the past 10 days or so which they think is connected to a pinched nerve in my neck as well as just getting over a very heavy period. Not sure if any or all of this is related.

Dear Madam,

Thanks for reverting back.

I dont think any of this is related , only that you are perimenopausal can be related to this as during this time people get hot flushes , anxiety and panic attacks even. Rest I dont think is of any relevence .

I had a stressful day but nothing too stressful. I suffer from anxiousness and PTS since losing my oldest daughter in an accident 9 years ago although I live in denial to function. I've never had high blood pressure and today my blood pressure was 138/87 with a heart rate of 93. Should I be concerned?

Dear Madam,

Thanks for reverting back.

In my opinion there is nothing to worry , if you are having anxiety then this much blood pressure and heart rate is not anything abnormal , so you can have it .It is very unfortunate that you suffered from such great loss which has impacted your life like this . But we need to build ourselves , gather again and move ahead in life . Try to be happy and share what is bothering you which will bring down your stress levels .

If you want any other help let me know.
