What Causes Discomfort In Groin And Pain In Leg With History Of Cervical Cancer?

Question: I was diagnosed in2009 with right ovarian cyst, rather large, I met with an oncologist that read the report and stated he did not feel it was cancerous (I had a hysterectomy when I was 24 for cervical cancer, so everything was removed except my ovaries. He also told me I was a high risk for surgery at that time...I am noticing I have discomfort in my groin, like I did when I was ovulating and of course the pain radiates down the leg. I have had other MRI and my primary care Dr said it had shrunk quite a bit....I also had and still have a cycst on my pancreas also shrinking

Since you are a cancer survivor and also since the mass was large i will advise a recheck on the mass .

Get tumour markers done on the mass.

Also non cancerous mass also can grow very large and if they cause discomfort they need to be taken out.

I will advise that this mass need to be re checked with tumour markers & better taken out before it turns cancerous

Thjanks...what are tumor markers (do they need to be done thru surgery)? Also, what about the pain I am experiencing in the groin area and radiating down my leg?

Tumour markers are blood tests to detect if the mass is cancerous or not.

They are CA-125, CEA , and alpha fetoprotein

The pain in the groin could be due to the mass pressing on to nerves of your groin or leg. This is an indication for surgery for removal of mass as it will not go on its own.
