Question: Dear Doctor,

I'm facing an issue with breaking problems from past 5 years, I cant inhale air completely into my lungs it will not be 100 percent. During mediation/yoga I just can do it, I can run for a long time. Sometimes these creates lot of stress & sometimes I will not be able to sleep during nights & I have to open my mouth & sleep

I can breathe completely in following situations

1.When I drink a bottle full of water & vomit the same before brushing my teeth, I get a liquid in green color or sometimes in yellow- which has bitter taste & has fishy smell, once that liquid comes out from stomach I can feel free in my lungs & I can inhale 100%

This heavy feeling on stomach I can sense if I eat lot of chocolates/ ice cream/ sweets

I have sinus problem & tonsils issues, I dont smoke or drink. Kindly let me know the problem im facing. Is the practice of vomiting a good idea for long period? What is the green liquid that I vomit all the time & how does it connect with my breathing & make it free?

Brief Answer:
No, this kind of practice of vomiting is not a good idea.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No, this kind of induced vomiting is not a good idea.
Green colored liquid is mostly bile. Bile secrets from gall bladder.
And it can cause vomiting in some individuals.
Excess of bile secretion in stomach can cause gastritis and GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease).. This reflux can cause micro aspiration and this can cause breathing difficulty.

Dear Doctor,

1. No I'm not obese
2. Yes, I have stress symptoms

I'm working in sales from past 2 years, at present I'm really doing good in my job & personal life., but exactly 3 years back I have suffered from issues like anxiety, vitamin deficiency ,digestive problems, severe muscle cramps, shoulder join pains, dizziness, completely tired, sometimes my muscles used to pain even If i walk or make a sudden movement.

Even now I have few symptoms like feeling very tired in the morning hours , I take multiples naps in the afternoon hours & I will be exhausted by evening, I frequently sleep ... I have become more lazy too . Sometimes I feel shaky legs and hands, I will worry for no reason & become impatient. I cant concentrate on one thing at a time, I cant finish any work completely, I get upset / demotivated even when things are good, I always feel energy less, I'm short tempered & overreact on unnecessary things.

Dear Doctor,

Thanks for your prompt responses,

I have never been to any psychiatrist but I have consulted a homeopathy physiologist , he has mentioned that I have mild depression & given some medicines 2 years back, I have used it for a month & stopped it. From 2 years I'm not using any medicine.

How stress, anxiety and depression are related to my breathing problems? I request you to help me to get over from all these issue..

Brief Answer:
Stress, anxiety releases inflammatory mediators.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Sorry to say but you are not following appropriate doctors and medicines.
This is the reason for your symptoms.
Stress and anxiety release inflammatory mediators in the body.
These mediators act on entire body but mainly on lungs. They cause inflammation in lungs and this can cause breathlessness.
This is the reason why asthma patients are more prone for breathing difficulty in stressful and emotional situation.

Dear Doctor,

1. I do not have burning epigastric pain
2. I do not have belching
3. I do not have burping

I sometimes feel slight burning sensation in stomach which is not at all painful, that too will go if I eat something. Its just a normal feeling.

If shortens of breathe is because of inflammation in lungs then why is it not constant? if I have a breathing problem today, as I told you - next day If i vomit that yellow/green bile liquid I will not have any shortness of breathe for next two day... so how does that liquid linked with my lungs?

I dont have any pain/symptoms you have mentioned...

Breathlessness depends on stress level of th body.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Breathlessness depends on stress level of the body.
If you are in more stress, you will be find more breathlessness. If no stress then no breathlessness.
In my opinion, in your case, stress directly related to your vomiting which relieved stress as well as breathlessness.
Please let me know
1. Do you find any correlation between more stress followed by vomiting? I mean do you vomit after stressful day?
2. What kind of stress you are having? Is it work related or family related?

Dear Doctor,

1. Do you find any correlation between more stress followed by vomiting? I mean do you vomit after stressful day?

A: I wont get vomiting, but as mentioned I vomit myself every morning to remove green liquid from my stomach, which makes my breathing smoother without any difficulties.

If you asking me the relationship between stress and this green liquid/ breathing, i'm really not sure I didnt observe much, as far I know I will get stressed if I have breathing problem, might be yes.

2. What kind of stress you are having? Is it work related or family related?
A: Stress is not at all related to work, but I will be always in some disappointment mood, I usually dont laugh or be so happy, there is no reason - I might be depressed.

Brief Answer:
In my opinion, you should consult psychiatrist first.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you should consult psychiatrist first and get done counselling sessions.
Discuss your symptoms, mood, depressed feeling etc with him.
Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on it's solution.
You may need anxiolytic and anti depressant drugs.
Believe me, counselling plus drugs will definitely cure you.
Honestly speaking, there is no such induced vomiting thing and relief from breathlessness. It's all in your mind.
Hope I am not hurting you but I have not heard of anything like this.
May I ask you few personal questions only if you allow?
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
