Brief Answer:
Probiotic will be helpful

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms

Majority of loose motion or Acute Gastroenteritis is caused by viral infection and is self limiting. All that is needed is symptomatic treatment and ensuring adequate intake of nutrition and fluids to prevent dehydration.

I would suggest you the following

1. Adequate intake of water and electrolyte : WHO recommended ORAL rehydration solution can be given

2. Probiotic like Darolac sachets , 1 XXXXXXX dissolved in glass of water can be given thrice a day

3. Anti motility drug like Loperamide can be given. It should only be used when there is absence of blood and mucous in stools . It is prescription drug and needs to be brought with prescription.

4. Soft diet : Addition of curd and Yoghurt in diet will be helpful.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care

Brief Answer:
Dosage of Loperamide not to exceed 8 mg in a day

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms
The dosage of Loperamide is 2 mg single dose and 1 mg after every loose stools. Not to exceed 8 mg in single day you need to get the prescription from your physician.

I hope she is recovering.
