Question: hello Doctor, I am a 65 year diabetic 20 years ,take amaryl, glucophage, Last 2 weeks I started to have diarreah and my glucose has gone up 160/300t does come down but if I eat any bread it shuts up right away, It got better in the last week but it came back again,I also have acid indigestion. It burns and the burns moves around. Could this be pancreatitis or acid reflux please help me am very worried.am taking pepto bismal sugar free,and gas pills,I do have a sort of pain in the right on my back very snall sensation

Thanks for using our service. Diarrhea can be secondary to Metformin, mostly if you are taking dosages higher than 500 mg daily. Your stomach symptoms could be from reflux or decreased in the intestinal movement due to long standing diabetes . Pancreatitis is less likely due to it will give you a severe pain with radiation to your back.
