Brief Answer:
No relation as such. Provide me further details

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern.

As such there is no co relation between diarrhea and a car accident.

However, diarrhea after a car accident can occur due to severe stress caused by accident and also if any medications you have taken following accident

Give me following details to help you better:

1. When did you met the accident?

2. Did you get unconscious following accident?

3. Did you have any Ear, Nose bleed?

4. Any head heaviness or headache following accident?

5. Since when are you having diarrhea?

6. How many episodes in a day? Loose watery in consistency or semi solid? Any blood in stools? Any pain abdomen?

7. Any medications you have taken after car accident?

This is my best advice for you based on available details. If you have any further query please ask me and revert with the asked details for a better help.

Stay Healthy.

the accident happened Friday night. did not go unconscious and no ear or nose bleeds. headache immediately after the accident and ever since. I'm also dizzy when I lay flat or look downward. diarrhea started around 2am Sunday. it started slow every few hours but has increased to about every 30min. very watery but no blood. my stomach does not hurt but it is bloated and hard to the touch. however I do see tiny white balls or something in the stool. only thing I took was Percocet at the ER

Brief Answer:
Detail Follows

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.

The headache you are feeling is due to Post Concussion Headache.

This would eventually get better with time, however i prefer to add Escitalopram to my patients if they have severe headache.

You had accident on Friday and you developed loose stools on sunday, it means they are not interrelated.

Percocet is not going to cause diarrhea. However it can cause stomach upset.

I would advise you following:
1. To consume lots of fluids orally.
2. To take a probiotic like Bifilac, Vizylac.
3. To consume curd.
4. If the diarrhea persists or get worsen, then you may require antibiotic therapy.
5. You should also take a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone once a day for 3 days.

If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
