What Causes Delayed Periods?

Question: I am 31 years old married for 6 years. we are trying for baby ..my Doc prescribed me Folic acid + ovacare TABLETS. I Sonography on 13th day mentioned 13mm folicile & on 15th day due to small size was mentioned anovulation. From past month i am taking both these tablets ...my periods got delayed for week. Is it because of the tablets.

Brief Answer: no Detailed Answer: Hi The delay in period is not because of tablets you mentioned. Let me know if you have taken progesterone support which is likely to delay the periods. Have you taken any progesterone medicines ?

Thanks for replying..no i have not taken any such medicines infact i have not even heard about any such medicine. This time my periods got delayed by 33 days so was worried. [LMP are as follows XXXXXXX - 20th, Feb - 15th & March - 19th]. Doc told me may be i am pregnant but yesterday it was cleared that i am not pregnant. This time my DOC has prescribed me to take siphene 100 from 3rd day of my period along with ovacare and folic acid. Bit of error in my previous question.."Sonography on 13th day mentioned 13mm follicle"..it was actually 10mm. Can anovulation be predicted on 15th day if there is any follicle.

Brief Answer: February 28 days Detailed Answer: Hi, This february had 28 days and not 31 days. Hence you have to adjust 3 days for periods. It appears you have not ovulated. But 13th day is early to comment. Let the doctor continue scanning till 18th day to confirm if you had delayed ovulation. many people get follicle more than 15 mm by 15th day. Regards

Thanks Dr. XXXXXXX Koregol for the prompt reply.. i was aware of 28 days in february. But was bit doubtful about an-ovulation predicted on 13th or 15th day last month ..it seemed bit early as ovalution can be delayed also.. So will wait for further scanning this time after taking siphene 100. One more thing regarding my husband, should we go for his check up also. For that we need to visit urologist or someone else?
