Question: Hi I am 26yrs old. All my life I have had very normal periods and no pain no irritation. But this the latest one that was due on March 24th 2014 came only on April 4th and is still continuing its been apr 24th so almodt 20days. The flow is very normal but I am scared as this is the very 1st time. Am not married and not had any intercourse. I did consult a doctor who prescribed Tamik BC, Stryptovit and Raricap. I have taken it for 2 days but has not stopped. Please help me......

Brief Answer: Due to hormonal imbalance. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. The bleeding that you are having is not due to intercourse or any major abnormality. From the history it seems that you are having Dysfunctional uterine bleeding. The etiology of such disorder can be psychological stress, weight (obesity, anorexia, or a rapid change), exercise, endocrinopathy, neoplasm, drugs, or it may be otherwise idiopathic. The treatment that has been given to you is correct. It will take few days to show an effect. In case the bleeding persists even after taking the medicine for a week then do consult your gynecologist for stronger prescription medicines. Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have. Wishing you good health. Regards. Dr. Rakhi Tayal. Brief Answer: safe medicines. Detailed Answer: Hello. Thanks for writing again. Your query remains confidential and is not posted online. The irregular and heavy bleeding that you have is not related to masturbation. There is no effect of stopping masturbation on the bleeding. The medicines that you have been given are safe and well tolerated. These do not affect your future cycles or child bearing. The effect will wean off once you stop taking the medicines. Please do not worry. Hope my answer is helpful. Do accept my answer in case there are no further queries. Regards.
