What Causes Decreased Appetite During Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Thu, 23 Jul 2015
Question: My 27 years old daughter is on the 3rd month of her first pregnancy. She is being given Biopreg, Duphaston, Endogest & Delisprin. She dislikes the smells & tastes of all the foods she normally used to love and even she does not water more than half a bottle. She feels very irritant. We are quite worried whether this is normal. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Precautions advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
It is common to have decreased appetite in pregnancy.
Ask her to have small meals at frequent intervals because in case large amount is taken at a time then she will feel indigestion and nausea.
Dry stuff like dry fruits and biscuits in between meals is also good.
Take cottage cheese chunks and pulses in the form of sprouts.
Chocolates and candies also help in improved appetite.
I hope above measures will help her.

Dr Manisha
