Question: Hi,

We have been advised IUI (due to unexplained fertility)
On 8th day of my wife's cycle, we have started folicular study.
Her endometrical thickness is 4.6mm.
Doctor has advised HER to take Viagra (Slidenafil Citrate 50mg) for 3 days.
Is it normal ?
Answered by Dr. Mahesh Koregol 4 minutes later
Brief Answer:
Endometrial thickness is low

Detailed Answer:

I understand your concerns about thin endometrium.

Endometrial thickness is low. This needs improvement.

Sildenafil vaginal tablet improves blood flow to endometrium thereby increasing endometrial thickness.

Your doctor is right. Continue the same.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

today's follicular study results (10th day)

RT Ovary - 12mm (Avg)
LT Ovary - 14mm (Avg)
Endometrial thickness - 5.2 mm

Are these results normal ?
Also what should be the minimum endometrial thickness ?
Answered by Dr. Mahesh Koregol 1 hour later
Brief Answer:
Endometrial thickness is less

Detailed Answer:

These findings are normal for 10th day except endometrial thickness which is less.

Follicles are growing right and are likely to reach 18 mm after 3 days which is optimum size.

Endometrial thickness should be 7mm or more. It looks you will achieve this slowly. Lets see repeat scan after 3 to 4 days.
