Following information is required first...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

1. Food poisoning is often associated with diarrhea. Have you experienced frequent bowel movements during these days? Any other symptom?

2. Did the tarry colored stool appeared after food poisoning? Or you have noticed it before?

3. Have you been suffering of constipation or hemorrhoids?

4. The tar colored stool are suggestive of possible upper GI bleeding. If you had it before poisoning and is persisting without improvement, then, should get further checked by GI specialist. You might need upper endoscopy and colonoscopy done to see possible changes.

On contrary, if the tar colored stool is getting improvement, then, I suggest to wait for a few more days. Keep on with increased fluids (water) and ORS and rest until improvement.

Looking forward to have the requested info for further assistance.
