What Causes Dark Pigmentation Around The Mouth?

Question: I m 27 yr old female. from the age of 10 , the skin around my mouth is darker than my remaining body. its not a XXXXXXX I m medium fair. the darkness is only from the area near my lips till my chin. I have not done any treatment till now regarding this. I use OTC creams and don't use any make up. wat kind of disorder is this? what should I do to regain my normal skin color? will this go since I haven't treated this early?

I have had thyroid problems before. I have had metaphage tabs because at that time I was diagnosed pcod. I haven't taken any medications for thyroid irregularities as such. even if I take a photo it might not be clear to you because I m brown color and the darkness is mild. I probably need a really good cam to convey it to you

Brief Answer: glycolic acid cream Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for follow up, I asked regarding thyroid problems as these are associated with pigmentation. Have you ever tried peels? Glycolic acid peel will work better for you. If you dont have a dermatologist in near vicinity, you can buy glycolic acid 6 % cream. The following should be procedure to use it. 1. Wash your face in evening around 7 pm. 2. Dry face and apply glycolic acid cream on affected area of your face. 3. Keep it for half hour. 4. Wash face again. 5. Apply some moisturising cream and sleep. 6. In morning apply a sunscreen with spf at least 30. Do this for a month, you will see the results. Let me know if you have any other doubts. Thank you
