Brief Answer: Detailed explanation below. Detailed Answer: Hello and weclome, It is completely understand your concern. However It is too early to comment upon what will happen to the baby at this stage. The finding of a larger sac and a smaller baby are typically seen in cases of missed abortion where the baby is no longer alive and is reabsorbed but the sac take time to resolve and is seen. However in your case the heart beat was seen which is a very encouraging sign. I am also not sure what was the dead tissue in the uterus. Please ask your doctor to clarify if possible [ it may be difficult for them too as it is very early pregnancy]. It may come from the clots that you passed or sometimes there are twins and one baby aborts while the other continues. So this may also show a bigger sac. In any case, if there is no bleeding now, take rest and progesterone [ your doctor may have already prescribed this]. Also start injection HCG and folic acid tablet after consulting your doctor as it helps prevent abortion. Wait for the next scan to see how things span out. If the baby is growing well and corresponding to the expected gestation then there should not be any worries. I completely understand and share your concern. However it is not possible to predict pregnancy outcome in such cases. The reassuring sign is presence of heart beat and cessation of bleeding. If these two are there then most women do well with supportive therapy. The long term bad effects to the baby are not there as there are many women who experience such symptoms but have a good outcome. Hope this satisfies your query. Thanks for using HCM. Thank u so much dr. for ur positive words. As u said I am already on folic acid and progesterone suppliments, also taking hucog injections in every 5 days. Next appointment for ultrasound is aft 15 days. As u can understand we r so concern abt this baby as I had a misscarriage in nov 2013. I had TORCH- Rubella infection...my gynac prescribed me Torchnil tablets for 3 months for both of us me and my hubby...Do u think Torch has anything to do with the current problem?

Brief Answer: TORCH may be indirectly related. Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome back, You are taking the correct medicines. I would advise to repeat a torch test again. These infections are self correcting but they have a tendancy to recur. We have been researching on the TORCH group of infections and found that even in women with a high protective antibody Ig G the risk of abortions is slightly higher than the general population. However you have already received TORCH nil so the risk is less. Just continue the drugs and continue to take rest. Keep a positive attitude as it helps in secretion of all the good hormones and helps health of the mother and the baby. Take a healthy diet rich in fruits and proteins, even protein powders help. These help to maintain health and prevent resurgence of viral infections like torch. I completely understand your concern, but please do not be stressed. You are trying your best so we must hope for a positive outcome. Take care and feel free for any further queries. Dr Madhuri
