What Causes Dark Brown Line On The Right Big Toe?

Question: Hello
I have a dark brown line across the skin of my right big toe. No pain, been there about a month. Any thoughts on cause?

Seems to be like pigmentation due to trauma or friction from shoewear. I suggest you to use a moderately potent topical steroid cream e.g either mometasone furoate 0.1% cream or triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream, twice daily for a few days.

Not Acanthosis Nigricans

Hi.

Does not look exactly like acanthosis nigricans(AN). Acanthosis has a thickened, velvetty texture of skin.
Moreover, AN due to insulin resistance would typically also involve other classic body sites as well e.g neck, axilla, elbows, knuckles etc.
