Question: I've been having cough in the last few days. There was blood in sputum. I have pain in the chest. The pain intensifies when I breathe in. I have had pneumonia in the past. I consulted a doctor and they feel there's no relapse as the chest is clear. Have attached the X ray report of PA chest. Kindly help me undertsand the report better.

Brief Answer:
Chest xray normal, recommended CT if symptoms persist

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your queryin detail.
The chest xray is looking normal. However if your symptoms are not improving with treatment and there is persistent blood in sputum then please discuss with your doctor and get a CT scan chest done.

In many patients small abnormalities may not be seen in chest xray. Therefore a normal chest xray with persistent symptoms requires detailed investigation.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
