Posted on Mon, 9 Jun 2014
Question: Continuous vomiting on a given day (up to 6 - 7 times) spread apart around 3 weeks over the last 6 months. Vomit may consist of a light yellowish, greenish & brownish color. I vomit when indigestion builds up then I feel better until the next indigestion occurs. I only drink water throughout the day.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,

I have gone through your query. For last 6 months you are getting episodes of vomiting 3 weeks apart. From the symptoms you have mentioned there are high chances that you may be suffering from peptic ulcer disease or any upper gastro-intestinal tract infection. These usually occur due to long time on empty stomach or irregular feeding habits.

I want to know if you experience any tenderness over epigastrium or heartburn, when you are on empty stomach.

For the time being, i usually advise Antacids Syrups after meals and Proton Pump Inhibitors Like pantoprazole along with domperidone or Ondansetron on empty stomach. Try to eat small quantity of food 4-5 times instead of having heavy meal twice or thrice.

Investigations like Upper GI endoscopy, Urea Breath Test and Clinical examinations may be required to find out the exact cause. If any infections like H.Pylori came out in your results, then antibiotics will be started accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
