What Causes Constipation And Hard Lump On Navel Post A Hernia Surgery?

Posted on Mon, 4 Apr 2016
Question: I had hernia surgery with mesh put in two years ago and gallblader removal at the same time.I am bigger 235 pounds. And I had issues on and off with bowel movements since the surgery only. The doctor attributes those to the removal of the gallblader.I have a very hard palpable lump on the top of my belly button. This is this the hernia felt first. Two years ago,it was small and now it seems to be way bigger.I had an ultrasound this morning and saw quiet a bit of whites patches like 6 or 7.....what are those? Is it kidney stone?polyps, cancer?calcificatin, fatty liver disease? ( I do not drink alcohol, neither do I smoke but I am bigger.).

Brief Answer:
CT scan required

Detailed Answer:
hi and welcome to HCM.I have thoroughly reviewed health query you raised, and well realize all of those concerns.
Ultrasound is not specific and not accurate in diagnosing such pathologies so I think that CT scan should be done torule out possible disease such as intraabdominal adhesions, pancreatitis or tumors or recurring hernia.let me know if youhave any further queries, would be happy to help.
