Question: My 18 year old granddaughter has been suffering from: Swollen lymph nodes (goes and comes); wet cough (spits frequently); sore throat/mucus in throat; constant headache (sinus cavity), but not able to blow mucus out, even when she steams her face; body aches/flu-like symptoms, nausea, loss of appetite and has lost 10+ pounds (hard for her to gain weight/down to 92 pounds from 102). I am really concerned for her.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of allergic rhinitis and sinusitis is more likely.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of allergic rhinitis and sinusitis is more likely in your daughter's case.
So better to consult ENT doctor and get done clinical examination of sinuses.
She may be need short course of antibiotic (amoxicillin or cephalosporin group), antihistamine (levocetrizine or fexofenadine), anti allergy (montelukast) and anti inflammatory (paracetamol).
Along with drugs, steam inhalation, warm water gargles 5-6 times a day will also help her.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
