Posted on Mon, 31 Aug 2015
Question: I am tired all the time. Could it be CFS? I always have needed lots of sleep, I had encephalitis in 2nd grade and was in a coma. I use a CPAP machine and also have RLS and take ropenerol. I got divorced after 42 yrs. of marriage ten years ago. Itake Zoloft for depression. I don't know if this physical or mental or both. I would like your input . thanks. YYYY@YYYY

Brief Answer:
It is not CSF.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your query here at HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Chronic fatigue syndrome is a condition characterized by fatigue that can't be explained by any underlying medical disorder.

So, in your case fatigue can be explained or related to past encephalitis history, depression and your age.

In my opinion all these three factors contribute in your fatigue.

Only good control of depression could contribute in improving fatigue, since age and past encephalitis (its damages on nervous system) cannot be modified.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Take care.
