What Causes Constant Chest Pain, Excessive Belching And Shortness Of Breath?

default

Question: I started having chest pains about 4 weeks ago. Off and on but usually lasts throughout the day. Mainly in one place at the top of my left breast but also sometimes on the right. I have been belching a lot for about two months. I belch sometimes when I wake up in the night and also first thing in the morning. And all day long. I am clearing my throat a lot and always have had to after I eat. I sometimes have pains in my stomach at top or bottom and on both sides. At one point it was very strong below my left rib. I sometimes pass a lot of gas. I have nausea a lot which is usually relieved by antacids. I also have some shortness of breath which is remedied with some deep breathing. My left jaw cracks when I eat. I do not have an acid taste in my mouth or heartburn. Sometimes it feels like I have a lump in my throat. I do exercise about 4-5 days a week. No chest pain during exercise.

I had an ekg 4 weeks ago that was normal. I also had normal routine bloodwork (no heart specific bloodwork). My doctor had thought it was acid reflux (without acid).

I am out of town so went to an urgent care a few days ago. I had an ekg again that showed PAC. I am not sure if this showed on my first ekg, as this doctor said it wasnt a concern. I also had two different lung capacity tests which I passed. They also tested for some sort of infection that i didnt have. The doctor said she thought it was costochondritis. So for the past two days I have been taking Valuim and Diclofenac. The chest pains seem to have lessened but I do still have some shortness of breath. She also told me I have tonsil stones on both sides.

I am still concerned this is heart related so I have had some anxiety over this all. Sorry this is so long, I just wanted to provide as many details as possible.

Thank you,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Does not seem to be due to heart cause. PACs not a cause for concern.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone very carefully through the entire query and understand your concerns. On reading through, my impression has been nothing more than reflux or costochondritis. Premature Atrial Complex (PAC)s in EKGs are not a cause of concern and do not occur due to causes that lead to pain in the heart. The description does not seem consistent with heart problems and you need not worry about them. Rather you should relax. Anxiety leads to heart problems and you have no reason to get anxious.

Continue the suggested treatment and you should be fine.

Thank you for your attention to my question and thorough evaluation. One more issue to mentor is frequent muscle pains in a few different places, mostly in different places on my left leg. Could this be from my lower Vitamin D level? Thank you for your time.

Brief Answer:
Taking juicy fruits should help

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

If apprehensive, you can get your Vitamin D levels checked. However, I feel electrolyte imbalance more likely. Take juicy fruits as they contain plenty of potassium which is needed for healthy muscular functioning. Apply hot compress as needed.
