What Causes Constant Anal Pain While Sitting?

default
Posted on Fri, 27 May 2016
Question: I'm worried because I've been feeling some dull constant pain and pressure in my rectum especially when I'm sitting down. I sit a lot during the day at a desk job. I'm 56 female. No family history of colon cancer. No bleeding, gas, or constipation. Stools are normal in color. Slight history of hemorrhoids. I've never had a colonoscopy. The discomfort wakes me at night. The discomfort started about 2 days ago. Thank you for your help.

Hi Dear !! Thanks for your query to HCM.
Read and reviewed the facts of your query in context to your health concerns of dull constant pain.

Differential Cause-Diagnosis-
Anal pain in last 2 days could be due to hard stool with traumatic proctitis in already subdued infection in hemorrhoids which you may have.
Spicy/ nonveg diet could aggravate such anal pain.
The sedentary job also increases the possibility of aggravation in your case.
Or
The current painful attacks is suggestive of- Anal fissure in early development from hard stool lately, the trauma of which is unnoticed by you.

Do's -Suggested-
In the absence of any more history and details- I would suggest you to - add
Tab Ciplox Oz- 1 x 2 times a day x 5 days to take care of proctitis.
Continue brufen and
Stop any Preperation H like application locally, till things settle with pain.
Take plenty fluids
and Be on Bland high fiber diet.
Sitz bath with Dettol- warm water - x 3-5 days would recoup the pain fast.
Avoid Spicy / nonveg diet for 2 weeks time.

Get the Surgeon's opinion and proctoscopy if no relief is there in next 3 days time.

Hope this would resolve your health issue, with help of doctors there.

Welcome for any further query in this regard.

Good Day !!
