What Causes Constant Abdominal Pain?

default
Posted on Mon, 3 Oct 2016
Question: I have abdominal pain going on 11days now. Dr has checked my gallbladder it's clear, I have a ct scan for abdomen and pelvic area booked for Tuesday I'm not sure I can wait much longer, it appears to be getting worse and not easing up. It's all over my abdomen left and right and centre, even feels like it goes down to my groin. I had a total emergency hysterectomy in 2012 so that rules out pregnancy etc. I feel it's in my intestines or bowel any idea what it could be? Thankyou

Brief Answer:
Could be a small calculus

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing in
Can you please describe the pain?
Does it stay there all 24 hours?
Any symptoms like constipation; diarrhea ;vomiting ;frequency of urine ;burning while passing urine?
Your history of pain radiating to groin points to a uretric calculus
If it is anything related to bowel it could be adhesions following hysterectomy
Do write back with the information and I will help you

Hi, thankyou.
Yes it is there constantly, but changes position. It is dull crampy pain all the time but then sharp stabs come and go. It is now going through to my back. I am going to the toilet a bit more but urine and bowel motions appear to be normal. Just in a lot of pain

Brief Answer:
Seems Collitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing in again with detailed information

It appears collitis

I would suggest you avoid junk, spicy, fried and fermented meals

Take a good probiotic twice a day for ten days
An antispasmodic as and when needed

If there is no response after 3 days get a stool culture examination and a complete blood count done and start antibiotics accordingly

Hope this helps
