Brief Answer:
It may be due to retained secretions or infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXX
Thanks for writing to HCM

Collapse of small segment of lung is called as segmental collapse and it is due to block of small airway.
Generally it doesn't require any treatment because in majority of the cases it doesn't affect lung functions.

Small segmental collapse in lung may be due to retained secretions. It can block peripheral airways. It may also be due to infection.
In heart patients it is also seen due to chronic accumulation of fluids.

In short,it may be due to retained secretions or infection.
You need to consult pulmonologist for detail evaluation.

Brief Answer:
You should consult surgeon.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXX
Thanks for writing back

You need surgical opinion. Most probably you have reducible hernia. It seems that it is reduced now(means it has gone inside),so pain is diminished.

If it get obstructed then it may lead to emergency,so it better to get examined by a surgeon and follow their advise.
