Brief Answer:
Get Hemogram.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney.
In people suffering from CKD the most common causes of increased sensitivity to cold are:
1. Hypothyroidism
2. Anemia.
So I would advise you to get following investigations:
1. Hemogram
2. Thyroid profile.
3. Iron studies.
Write to me with reports. We will discuss the treatment part.
Now about getting Serum Calcium and Vitamin D levels.
See Hypocalcemia and Vitamin D deficiency is commonly seen in CKD.
However I would recommend ionized calcium in your case. Also you should get Serum Phosphorus done.
Calcium and Phosphorus imbalances occur together.
And both needs to be managed.
So If on treatment we get these tests repeated every 3 months.
I hope it helps
If you have any further query, please ask me.

Brief Answer:
Serum Calcium is different.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Serum calcium is a blood test measuring calcium levels in your body.
Calcium Acetate is different. In kidney disease, blood levels of phosphate may rise (called hyperphosphatemia) leading to bone problems.
Calcium acetate binds phosphate in the diet to lower blood phosphate levels.
So, that is a drug.
You should take Calcitriol as your kidney's are unable to make it in your body.
Regular testing is advised so that the dosage of drugs can be modified accordingly.
If you don't get the tests done you can land into Hyophosphatemia, Hypercalcemia due to dis balances as a result of Secondary Hyperparathyroidism.
I hope it helps.

Brief Answer:
Hyperparathyroidism

Detailed Answer:
Hyperthyroidism is different from Hyperparathyroidism.
Secondary Hyperparathyroidism occurs secondary to CKD.
A perfect balance should be made between Calcium and Phosphorous.
If you have any further query please ask me, else close the discussion and rate it.
