What Causes Cold And Cough While On Amoxicillin?
Question: Hi ,I have severe cold and voice also changed(i had throat pain before after taking Azax it is better) ,little cough .
I used AZAX 500 mg once a day for 3 days and gave 1 day gap still not fine so started today with 500 mg of Amoxicillin took one tablet now.
Wanted to check if I did correct thing or should I stop using Amoxicillin.my nose is also blocked completely

By your history and description, possibility of viral upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) is more likely.
Azithromycin is good antibiotic. No need to take amoxicillin as you have already taken azithromycin.
You should take combination of antihistamine (levocetrizine or fexofenadine) and anti inflammatory (paracetamol).
Also start anti viral drug (oseltamivir).
Oseltamivir should be given 75mg twice daily for five days.
Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Do warm water gargles and steam inhalation 4-5 times a day.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
No need for amoxicillin.

i am not taking any other drug at this moment .
I am using one related to omega-fatty acid to remove eye dryness suggested by a Eye specialist apart from that I am not using anything currently but I do have gastric irritation as a problem ,please keep a note of this before you suggest any medication
