What Causes Clear Liquid Discharge From The Scrotum?
Question: I have a clear water like fluid leaking through the skin of my scrotum. No pain, no injury, no swelling. Been sitting in planes and cars a lot for the past several days ? Any idea what this is and how to treat / stop the fluid leaking . Started about 60 min ago, about a half teaspoon amount total.

There are two likely possibilities.
1) Impetigo, a skin infection can cause fluid to ooze out in such a manner. Topical treatment with mupirocin would be required. If extensive then oral antibiotics wouldo be added.
2) A scrotal sinus can cause leakage too. It can su subside with antibiotics like levofloxacin or augmentin. If it recurs then surgical excision would be required.
Fungal infection if suspected then antifungals like fluconazole should be added.
Clothing causing friction leading to inflammation should also be addressed if none of the above causes is identified. Loose cotton clothes and lubricants like petroleum jelly or paraffin oil can be used in that case.
The area needs to be examined to advise treatment accordingly.
