Hi and thank you for asking!

You are reporting that your 4 years daughter is having clay-colored stools and vomiting.

These symptoms seems to be related with Acute gastrointestinal viral infection.
This is why I suggest to :
- use probiotics
- use hydramine and tasectan to avoid dehydration.
- plenty of liquids
I would like to know if sh has fever?
Otherwise if the symptoms doesn't get improve after a couple of days than i would suggest going to ER and pediatrician specialist.
Hope it was helpful to you!

she has no fever. she has no reduction in energy during the day and seems to eat well most days. the vomiting generally occurs in the early morning or night time. my concern is her maternal grandmother has passed away as a result of liver failure and I know that some of these symptoms are similar to what she was dealing with.

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Please don't worry about liver issue at your daughter.
These symptoms are mostly related with gastroenteritis and if the symptoms persist for more than 3 weeks than may be relted with acid reflux.
The symptoms like vomiting and nause from liver failure are secondary due to other symptoms and sings of this disease such as yellow sking, anorexia etc.
This is why to my opinion your daughter has nothing to do with liver failure.
Wish her good health.
