What Causes Circular Indentations On The Wrists?

default
Posted on Tue, 27 Dec 2016
Question: Hi, I have very small circular indentations on the inside of both wrists. They are not itchy and come and go. I have had them for years. They never spread from the veins on my wrist area. They can only be seen in certain lighting.

Brief Answer:
Anetoderma

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for the Images

These are localized areas of atrophy i.e loss of dermal/ elastic tissue. I would keep a possibility of anetoderma.
Were they preceded by some skin lesions or are they the same from begining?

Brief Answer:
Use tretinoin 0.05% cream

Detailed Answer:
Thank you.

I would keep a possibility of primary anetoderma or idiopathic anetoderma.
You may use a topical retinoid e.g tretinoin 0.05% cream once daily at night. Tretinoin helps in remodelling dermal connective tissue and over time it would help reduce the visible defect.
