Brief Answer:
Medications cause metallic taste.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,XXXXXXX
Welcome to HCM.
I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
Your slight chesty cough may be due to to your asthma or reflux.
Metallic taste usually occurs after Nexium and even with medication of asthma.
So once you stop Nexium, your metallic taste will be gone in few days.
If cough is bothering, you can start with warm saline gargle, steam inhalation or even add a broncho dilator, if required.
Hope I have answered your query, if any thing else, you are welcome or you can close the question, if any thing else, you are welcome.
Good wishes.
